The Cordray Index Losers
My previous post on the Cordray Index emphasized the overall performance of its members and its big profit makers. This time my emphasis will be on the poor performers. Click the tab titled "Index members" and you will see that the worst-performing business category is reloadable credit cards, represented by Green Dot and Netspend Holdings. If you can reload your card by direct deposit, it is possible to use Green Dot's services without paying a fee. Netspend Holdings' fee schedule is more onerous. Money transfer operations is the next business category, represented by Moneygram and Western Union. The last money-losing category is purchasers of delinquent, charged-off consumer debt, represented by Asset Acceptance Capital, Portfolio Recovery Associates, and Encore Capital Group
